Coconut Lane

Hi everyone!

Hope you are all doing great. As you may have seen from my Twitter and Instagram (@Aminaali_mua) I have recently become a Coconut Queen. No, this doesn't involve me wearing a coconut crown (even though I wish it did), but what it does mean is that I am a brand ambassador for Coconut-Lane.com. So I thought I would take the opportunity to explain a little bit about the brand. I'm also going to share a sneak peak of an exclusive new product that only Coconut Queens have had the privilege of seeing and a 20% discount code to save you money when you decide to purchase... because you will be purchasing. Believe me it's too hard to resist!

Coconut Lane is all about accessories, from homeware to jewellery and everything in between. The products have a very chic yet playful vibe to them and I can imagine them being worn by the likes of the Jenners and Hadids. The best thing about them is that the prices are very affordable!

Something else that drew me towards Coconut Lane is the fact that it is a business that has been put together by two very savvy bloggers who promote femininity and all things Girl Boss *hair flick* (see their post on 8 ways to become a #GirlBoss) Who doesn't love a bit of female empowerment?! *Cue Destiny's Child Independent Woman*

I recently purchased a few items myself including their Dream Cali sunglasses (£21), Moon & Star earrings (£9), BFF bracelet set (£22) and Hologram phone case (£10) all of which have had a number of complimentary comments made about them. What I like about their products is that you can tell they have been carefully selected to fit in with the brand and because of this they are not products that you can just get on the high street. The products overall are of good quality, although I will warn those of you that have sensitive ears like me (seriously you only have to touch them for them to go red) that perhaps their earrings may not be for you, as not all of them are real gold/silver. However you have more than enough choice to spoil yourself with something else!

Moon & Star Earrings

BFF Bracelet Set

Hologram Phone Case

What is definitely on my wish list, but hasn't even been released for sale yet, is this gorgeous Macbook case! So keep you eyes peeled as I'm sure it will be selling out pretty quick!

Other products on my wishlist include:

Their Emoji sticker sheet (£2)
Their 'Wing it' wall art (£6)

I'm really pleased I discovered this site. Not only are their products fab for splurging on yourself, but if you struggle to shop for presents, there's lots of stuff on there that would make perfect gifts for family or BFFs. Also, as mentioned, I have a 20% discount code for all of you to save money on your purchases! Use code 'ALIANDHER20' - you can thank me later!

Have you ever purchased from Coconut-Lane.com before? What did you buy?

Wedding Make-up look

Hey Everyone,

As wedding season is in full flow I thought I would do a wedding make-up look perfect for a registry or church wedding. This look is quite natural and is designed to give you radiance and a glow and let your natural beauty shine through on your big day. You may have seen my sneak peek on snapchat (aminaali_mua) and as promised here are the full product details. As a qualified make-up artist this is a make-up look I love to do on clients to give them that English-rose feel. However it is quite a versatile look that can be toned up for a more dramatic effect or down for a very simple make-up. It is even perfect for bridesmaids or even if you're just a wedding guest.

To start I have to emphasise getting your skin ready for your big day is very important! Start drinking lots of water. Go for a facial a few times in the weeks before your wedding. Start applying those eye creams and make sure you cleanse, tone and moisturise. Having naturally glowing skin will give you a radiant look without the effort.

Before I began, I cleansed, toned and moisturised. I then applied NYX Photo-finish primer and MAC Prep & Prime skin base visage. Using two primers may seem a bit over the top, but I used NYX for the smoothness and MAC for the luminescence. Once this was applied, I also used  MAC Strobe cream to give an extra highlight around the cheekbone. When foundation is applied on top it gives a 'glow from within' kind of look. I then applied NYX Peach colour corrector under the eyes. Next I applied MAC Face and Body in 'C5' to the face using a beauty sponge and gently bounced the sponge over my skin. This is a very lightweight, water based foundation with very sheer coverage. It is perfect for giving a dewy sheen to the skin and just enhances the skin. However if you have problem skin then you may want to go for a higher coverage foundation like MAC Studio Fix or Pro-longwear.  I set under the eye with Ben Nye 'Banana' powder and over the face with MAC Prep & Prime translucent powder.

For brows I used Benefit 'goof proof' Pencil in '5'. Now for the eyes I applied Kiko eye base primer with my fingers and then applied Bellapierre pigment in 'Champagne' to the lid. with a blending brush I then blended through the crease with MAC 'Aromatic' and then with a  pointed crease brush applied MAC 'Don't Tell' through the crease. On the inner crease and brow bone I applied MAC 'vanilla' pigment. Next I applied a thin line of liquid liner using Loreal Super liner perfect slim in 'Black'. To give more of a natural and softer look I applied Eylure Pro lash individuals, which are individual cluster lashes rather than a strip lash.

On the cheeks I used Chanel Joues Contraste in 'Pink Explosion'  a slightly darker colour to contour the hollows of my cheeks. On the lips, Dior 'Rouge Dior Nude 169'.   I highlighted with my favourite Mary-Lou Manizer from The Balm cosmetics.

I hope you like the final look and would love to hear your opinion. Comment down below.

Heaven Skincare Review

Hi Everyone!

Since the #BloggerTikiParty, where I was introduced to Heaven, by Deborah Mitchell I have been using some of the products offered in the skincare range. I had never heard of this brand before, which is surprising seeing how they are celebrating their 21st Birthday as a company this month! But I was really impressed when I saw what they had to offer. From packaging to the product itself I have been blown away and been using the products daily.

I had been after a new cleanser for a while so when I received the Hydro Cleansing Milk (£28, 150ml) I put it straight to the test. I have used it in a variety of ways. As a make-up remover, cleanser and moisturiser! The pump itself is great as one push pumps out the perfect amount to cover your whole face. So you know it is a very well thought out product. I love the scent of Lavender that has been given to the cleanser as I use it in the evening before I go to bed so it gets me relaxed and ready to sleep. The great thing about it is that it does the job! I was interested in this product specifically because it targets oily skin. Although my skin is combination, I found that my T-Zone area was getting very oily. Despite having used this product for only 3 weeks, I have noticed a reduction already! This is 100% my new cleanser and once it has finished I will definitely be purchasing another.

I was also given the Silk Skin BeeBee Cream in 'Honey' (£37, 30ml) which contains their star ingredient 'ABEETOXIN', aka actual bee venom! It also contains Hyaluronic acid and silk which are fab for the skin, and leaves it feeling super smooth. It is anti-ageing, firming and helps spots. This 'BeeBee' cream acts as a tinted moisturiser but with added benefits of a skincare product so you don't have to feel guilty whilst wearing your make-up! I think it's great for those days where you don't want to put a whole face of make-up on as there isn't much colour pay off. I have been wearing it on those days where I want to give my skin a rest. Alternatively it also makes a great primer. The only down side is that the Bee Bee Cream doesn't have the gorgeous scent some of the other Heaven products have which I missed, however it is made up by the fact that I'm a sucker for pretty packaging and I just love the way the pump twists up!

Top: Hydro cleansing milk      Bottom: Silk Skin BeeBee cream.

BeeBee cream rubbed into skin.
A great way to try the products, without committing, is by purchasing the SOS (Save Our Skin) kit (£5.50). It is meant as a travel companion for those weekends away or when going abroad and contains five sachets to cleanse, exfoliate, tone and moisturise as well as a mask. A good way to sample, if you don't want to invest upfront.

Overall I can say I am genuinely interested and would purchase products from Heaven again.  The products are award winning and speak for themselves. I  already have my eye on their Peppermint Clarifying Hydrogel (£19, 30ml) to use as a toner after cleansing. I have only been using the products for a few weeks but they have become some of my favourite skincare products! Have you ever tried Heaven skincare? What is your current skincare routine?
