Spring 2016 beauty must haves!

Spring is in the air! The days are feeling longer, the sun is up earlier and I am happier! I absolutely love Spring/Summer. Who doesn't? And I can't wait for the days to get get warmer. As the days are brighter, I find my makeup routine starts to gradually change over the Spring months ready for Summer. The only way I can describe it is my make up becomes fresher. I tend to leave the mattes behind and get as shimmery and glossy as possible!

Ready for Spring!

I thought I would put together a post of some new products that look perfect for Spring! First I have the Too Faced Sweet Peach Eyeshadow Palette (£37). The colours in this look perfect for Spring. The corals and peaches and then the darker shades for blending into the crease are great. I would love to get my hands on this!

MAC also released their 'Flamingo Park II' collection in January and there are some fantastic products available.  I particularly like the look of the Cremesheen Glass (£17.50), which has a range of 5 beautiful pink and coral shades which are just want you want during the Spring months to add a bit of colour to your routine. Here are a few of my favourite colours.

Sweet Tooth
Such Sweeties

My next Spring must have is the Rimmel X Kate Sculpting Palette (£6.99). It is absolutely gorgeous and gives you everything you need for the glowing look you are after. It consists of a highlighter, contour and blush. You could even use the contour as a bronzer instead. As you probably already know, I love 2-in-1 products or in this case 3-in-1. Perfect to pop in your holiday makeup bag. It's great value too, so i'll definitely be purchasing this one.

Colour: 003 Golden Bronze

I don't know why but when it comes to Spring I always reach for my nail polish bag and love to put on bright colours after months of deep reds. Nails Inc launched their Paint Can Spray Nail Polish (great name) earlier this year and I just can't wait to try it out. Sounds like such a great concept and would make life so much easier being able to apply it this way. However, you still need to apply a base coat and top coat the old fashioned way, so don't get too excited!

Mayfair Lane (£10)

Finally, if you're a fan of beauty boxes, Latestinbeauty.com have released their Glamour Spring Edit Box (£17.99). The value of this box is amazing, as it is worth £79.65! It has a variety of full size and sample products to get you ready for Spring. I love the look of the Illamasqua Precision Ink. It costs £20.50 full price, so you make your money back on this product alone. Definitely a must buy!

What are your beauty tricks for Spring? Have you purchased any products for the new season? I would love to hear your thoughts or comments!

Review: Makeup Revolution 'The ONE' contour and highlight sticks

Hi everyone, I hope you are all having a great week?

This week I thought I would review the Makeup revolution 'The ONE' highlight contour and sculpt contour sticks. Firstly, can I just say how much I love Makeup Revolution! I own a lot of their products as they are such good value for money. I could not live without their eyeshadow palettes! I have had these sticks for a while and have used them now and again. I bought them direct from the Makeup Revolution London website and at the time they were on offer so I got them both for £6! However they are back to full price now which is £5 each (still not bad).

Highlight and Sculpt
Starting with the Sculpt contour, I have to admit that I have only used it once. That's because I find the colour too orangey brown. I like to use more of a dirty brown when I contour, as it gives the effect of a natural shadow. However when orangey brown colours are used, the contour can look quite obvious, which is not a good look as far as I'm concerned. Aside from the colour, the pigment and consistency is quite nice. It is designed to use straight from stick to face however when contouring smaller areas, like the nose, you may need to use a brush, as the stick is quite wide.

Now for the highlight contour stick. I love to highlight as you can probably tell from my previous post, 'Contouring is out, strobing is in'. When the stick is applied directly from the stick straight to the skin, it gives off such a beautiful shimmer. It is very pigmented and gives a very sharp highlight. That's said, once you blend it or if you use a brush to apply it, it can look too glittery, which I personally do not like. That's why I stick to using it directly on the skin and I will definitely be using this more often, now I have rediscovered it.

In summary, I would definitely recommend the highlight stick but the sculpt is not for me. Have you tried any of these products? How did you find them? I would love to hear your comments!

My LVL eyelash treatment with Nouveau Lashes!

I am so excited to tell you about a treatment I have had done to my lashes recently. I am part of the Nouveau Lashes #lashgang and was lucky enough to have their LVL enhance treatment done. If you don't know much about LVL it is a natural way of lifting your lashes without having extensions or falsies, and it is fab! The results speak for themselves - just have a look!
Left: Before treatment  Right: After treatment
Above: Before treatment    Below: After treatment

The process usually takes about 45 minutes and for the most part you just lay back and relax, even fall asleep if you like. The process is pretty straightforward. Your lashes are cleansed and then a shield is applied to the eyelid. You have an option of three different moulds depending on your eyelashes and the effect you want. Your eyelashes are then pulled back onto the shield and separated. Next two different types of solution are applied and the final process is the tint. Conditioning serum is then applied to hydrate the lashes and they are finally combed, and et voila! You get the false look effect, without the hassle of applying false lashes, having extensions or even having to apply mascara!

The treatment lasts from 6 - 8 weeks depending on where in your lash cycle you are, and the cost of the treatment is £45, however this may vary depending on the salon.

I feel overall my eyelashes look thicker, longer and the treatment has lifted my eyes giving me a fresher look. I had my treatment done at Your Beautique in Yardley, Birmingham. It had a lovely chic yet vintage feel to it and I will definitely be going back for other treatments! They also have a training academy so if you are interested in LVL training be sure to look them up at www.yourbeautytraining.co.uk

What do you think of the treatment? Are you tempted to have it done? I think I have been converted! I would love to hear your comments as always.
